Certificate in Development Practice
Combining theory and practice in Agriculture, Energy Technologies and Efficiency, Business Management and Public Health
In 2009, with funding from the MacArthur Foundation, the University of California, Davis trialed the Global Network of Master's in Development Practice administered by the Earth Institute at Columbia University. (See the field experience of the 2010 summer practicum Link)
The UC Davis Certificate in Development Practice is no longer being offered. The two-year program included 5 required courses and 2 technical field practicum (2-6 weeks in length).
UC Davis continues to offer its well known International Agricultural Development Masters of Science degree program as well as the Postgraduate Certificate Program (PGCP) with varying specializations: See certificate courses.
The CDP focused on core development concepts and included an applied hands-on and practical experience in the following areas:

Knowledge Bank - Agriculture in Practice
The Knowledge Bank provides critical information for practitioners working in the field and abroad. The Knowledge Bank includes practical, hands-on advice on how to grow crops, manage pests, reduce crop spoilage in post harvest, etc...
